Thanks For The Misery
Lately I've been miserable with my mindless office job, feeling drained and pushed to the limit and stressed beyond belief, while attempting to maintain a smile and facade that everything is okay. Even in my downtime I haven't felt relaxed because the stress continues to gnaw at me. For a while I thought I should just power through and keep things how they are, but I don't want to do that anymore - I want to live life wholeheartedly.
It's crazy how one component of your life can have such an adverse effect on the rest of it! All I can advise is try to identify whatever that is and change it. You'd be surprised by how much you really can control. Maybe you're satisfied with how things are or accept that life is hard and there's nothing you can do. But are you living to your full potential? Are you missing out on the fullness of life you are destined to have?
I know it's scary, changing things up. But if you're spending all of your time putting off what you love and investing in things you hate, what is the point of that?? You get one life, one chance to be and do what you want. Once you've taken care of the immediate needs of food and shelter and family, whatever is left should be poured into who you are. Devote time to get yourself back. You need you. Surround yourselves with people who love you and get rid of the toxic influences in your life, whatever they may be.
Like a watered plant, pursue what you love and your soul will grow.It makes me so sad to think people have resigned themselves to leading hopeless lives because they think they can't change anything. There are always options, there is always hope - sometimes you have to be a little creative. When something isn't right in your life, do something different. If something doesn't belong in your life, get rid of it. If something is harmful for you but you keep returning, forget about it. You have the power to control how you react to what happens to you, you have a choice. Own it!! Life wasn't meant to be lived in despair, you will overcome. The darkness doesn't last forever and your dreams are too big to dismiss.
What a great read, Sarah!
ReplyDeleteThank you for an inspiring post and you're absolutely right, some days are definitely harder than others and it's so easy to focus on the things that aren't going well. Ultimately we get one chance at this merry go round so why not make the time to do the things we love to do!
I really enjoyed your post 😊
It's so true! So glad you could relate. It helps me not stress so much once I look at the big picture and try to let the little things go that don't matter. Cheers! :)
